Your Questions About Baby Basket Gifts Boys

Linda asks…

How should I design my gift for my new baby cousin?

We decided we would send my Aunt a cookie basket. I would like it to include “It’s a !” cookies and police type themes. little one is named after his father’s father who was a policeman who died when my uncle was in his teens. We thought it would be really meaningful to include some sort of police car or shield or something in basket to represent who he was named after. Should I do mostly baby stuff and maybe a car at the bottom or mostly police stuff with its a boy on it?

I think you should mix n match. I went to Target the other day and they has a rubber ducky dressed in a police uniform.. It was made by the brand munchkin. And there are websites where you can find cut onesies with cute slogans like “chick magnet” on them. Just type in police onesies an you’ll probably find one. And police car would be cute. Maybe you could find a basket and spray paint it the same colors as his grandfathers uniform. One of those picture frames that look like an open buy a baby themed one so you can place a pic of grandpa on one side and baby or daddy on the other! Oh and back to the onesies you can actually get a pic of grandpa make it to one of those iron on patches and iron it on the onesie! Also maybe some things that dad and grandpa did togther when he was alive? Togther? Keep the tradition! Good luck and hope this helps!

Nancy asks…

Would this be a good baby shower gift?

My brother and his wife are having their 1st and only baby boy, the chances of my brother conceiving were 1 in 100 from an old football injury so I want to make sure its a great present that they will get tons of use out of. However they have all the furinture pretty much taken care of .. I was thinking of getting a big basket full of the needs of the 1st couple weeks. What did you need/use the most the 1st month that you had your baby home?
No breast feeding. her dr advised her not to because of the breast cancer scare she had.
going to be watching the kid day in and day out myself. I already watch my other neice they both work at good jobs shes not one to stay at home she would go nuts
my mother took care of the 3-6 range and my Sister in laws father bought for the 9- 12 range i was told to handle the 1st month
I was going to rotate with my mother making them dinner and because i run a business that allows me to stay home durning the day was going to help her get everything ready after the shower and all unpacked and washed (was thinking of some dreft too for a gift) and all set up
Thank you everyone for all your suggestions and ideas and i will definatly put together a good basket. I was also thinking of something for just the mom. Like a nice bubble bath soap or something that she can enjoy as well.
she cant breast feed for more than the breast cancer scare, and her family being prone to it 3 of her aunts and her mother have all passed from it, however she almost died 2 years ago to blood clots in her lungs from birth control and now has to take a daily shot (while preg) and pill afterwards to thin her blood.

She is also been warned about having a c section because of her plecent being so low.

Get them Diapers, Gosh u can never have enough it seems, Wipes, Socks, Bibs, Mittens so he wont scratch himself, Sleepers, lotion, a nice blanket, One or two pacifiers (soothie the same one as the hopspital uses). If you put things like that in a basket they would be really happy. Something that they will use a lot is a really good blanket that the lil boy will have forever. Get stuff that means something to you and know they will love it too….Good Luck..

Steven asks…

What to put in a “You’re Expecting” gift basket?

I just found out one of my close friends is expecting and I want to make her a gift basket. Since it’s going to be a while before we find out if she’s having a girl or boy I thought I could have the gifts be more for her pregnancy instead of the baby. Here are some of the things I thought I could out in the basket: A card, balloon, small spa set, a parenting magazine, a “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” book and a pregnancy journal. What are some other things I should include for her in the basket? I’m on a tight budget, but any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

admin answers:

For the new mother something to indulge herself with and relax! Scented bath oils, candles, chamomile tea. For the baby create a gift basket with receiving blankets, baby outfits, diaper cream, baby bath items, baby rattles, lullaby CD.
