Baby shower hostess gift?
My good friend offered to host a baby shower for me, and it’s this Saturday… I’m trying to figure out what to get her as a way of saying thank you. I don’t have a lot of time, so I can’t get anything personalized or anything like that. We just moved here last July, so I haven’t known her for very long to know all of her likes and dislikes. She is a Scentsy consultant (wickless candles) so I don’t think candles or things like that would be of much use to her. Before here we lived in Turkey (military) and I have a few Turkish made rugs that I haven’t used, so I thought about giving her one that would match her decor. Would that be an ok gift? I’d like to get her something else as well, I just don’t know what. I’ve never done this, so I’m not sure what would be appropriate. Thanks in advance!

Would it be an “ok” gift? NO…it would be the most fabulous gift ever. I don’t know why anything would be needed in addition but you might consider a pretty dish in the colors of the rug that would look nice near a lit candle since that’s what she’s into.

Any baby shower gift ideas?
One of my really good friends is having a baby shower this Saturday… and I have no clue what to get her. It’s her first child, it’s a boy. I have about $50 to work with and I want to get her something special. I can’t do anything personalised or make her anything since I just don’t have enough time before Saturday. I need some really good ideas. She hasn’t registered anywhere.

You do have time to make a small diaper cake, its fun and easy and if you are interested e mail me and i will forward you the directions.The moms-to-be love this so MUCH. I would even make you one, lol. To make a small 2 tier it take maybe 30 min-to an hour. And the best part is the mom can use EVERYTHING its made out of.and its very personal!

Should I give gifts to my baby shower host?
I have a group of close friends giving me a baby shower in two weeks. I need ideas of what I can give them as thank you gifts for doing this for me. Would it be inappropriate to give them something dealing with the baby such as a picture frame with the baby‘s 3-d Ultra-sound picture in it or something personalized with what my child will call them ex. Nanny Heather… Please any ideas would beappreciated .

baby shower gifts!!!?
so i have like 5 babys coming in about 3 months that i need to get gifts for.
the 1st is my brothers 1st son, (gonna be aunt!) hes in the navy and is over in japan with his wife. i need to get him some baby gifts but it has to be something packagable.
the next is my 2 best friends.

identical twin girls, both pregnant, 3 days apart, with baby boys… and the fathers are brothers

this is a tough one because i want to get the both the same amount and quality but also be personalized for each mother/baby. (they shared everything in life i dont want their babies gifts to be exact to)
the next 2 babies are from coworkers, not as important as the rest but still need to get them something.
also! im a college student, money is tight, any bargain baby buys and ideals is greatly appreciated.
any good websites, ideals, bargains, stores etc is all greatly appreciated

Target and Burlington have the BEST baby sections.. Also, avoid babies r us, as they are sooo expensive…
I would check to see if they have registries, if not you could always make up baskets (using cute baskets they can use in the nursery) and put in diapers, wipes, onsies, toys, and you could buy some plain bibs and burp cloths and have them monogrammed even could do that with the onsies.. I LOVED my personalized gifts.
You could also do the same by filling up a personalized diaper bag if you know their taste.
Avoid buying newborn outfits, you get a ton of them and some babies only wear them for a few weeks.

Moms, I have a question for you about business?
I have asked in the small business section…and that is worse then here for spammers!
Anyway, I’m looking to be starting a small home based business making baby shower gifts, personalized or not. I’m going to be starting it as a supply and demand sort of thing, spread by word of mouth.
In this case, if it were you, would you make a business plan in case it grew quickly…or wait and see how things go for awhile?

I think I’d wait and see because it’s hard to make a business plan if you don’t have any data. Once you’ve sold some stuff and you have a better idea of quantities and prices, as well as how much volume you can produce, you’ll be able to make a much more realistic plan.
For example, I do freelance flash work from home. I know how much I can get for a certain kind of project and how many hours it will take me to do it. But if before I was staying at home with the baby and actually working while caring for the baby I really would have had no idea how much work I could reasonably accomplish and be the kind of mom I want to be at the same time, you know?
I’d also look into selling on etsy.com.
