I’m about 29 weeks pregnant…and I still havn’t bought anything for my baby, but all my family has bought tons of stuff and says I shouldn’t worry….
This is my first baby so I’d like to know if there is anything I will need that I havn’t thought of…I know the basics…like bottles, crib, bibs, car seat, clothes, blankets, diapers, and more but is there things that you found very helpful and didn’t really know you would need?
I am breastfeeding! I just want to get bottles because I’d like to buy a pump thing so I can sometimes rest and my husband can feed him

A boppy pillow!
I hear those are a lifesaver. My friend swears by hers. If you are planning on breastfeeding, they’re especially nice.
I’m 32 weeks and haven’t bought anything for baby yet either. My baby shower is tomorrow so I’m going to wait to see what I get and then go and purchase everything else I need.
I also want to get a swing. I know many mom’s who have them and say that they are really helpful. So I’d say if you can get a boppy pillow and a swing.

MITTENS, nappy cream, nappy bag are you not going to breastfeed?
Be careful when you try and do bottle and breastfeeding as your baby may have nipple confussion and then just reject your breast. I’d get some help with a lactation consultant or look on the La Leche League website for help..
The best bottles i’ve found that are most like a breast are adiri bottles ;) and if you’re going to be pumping get some milk storage bags and/or special breastmilk storge freezer tray, i’ve only found one called "Sensible Lines", bottle warmer (so you get the right temperature instead of overheating and destorying the nurtients).

I needed a nipple shield because nursing wasn’t going so well. It also depends on if your having a boy or a girl. My boy I needed Vaseline for his circumcision and also alcohol to put around the umbilical cord. And a baby swing was a must for all my kids.

Me neither (I’m due on 26th September)
I was at a party on 4th and told this to some friends (who are getting induced today) and they said that in short, the only thing you really need is a car seat, preferably the detachable kind. So that if you were to go into very very early labour, you could legally get the baby home safely, and they said that much of the time, their first baby slept in the car seat anyway!
So that was my surprising discovery for last week. This week I also found out that Amazon.com has a Baby Registry so that people buying you things over $25 get free shipping (to your house if necessary) so that’s another good tip.

I am 34 weeks pregnant and pretty much have everything we need to survive a full week. A few days after the birth, I’m going to send my husband out to purchase a breastpump because we don’t want ot spend the $300 on it now and discover the baby isn’t going to take the breastmilk.
My babyshowers are sunday and tuesday, so after that we are planning on buying whatever else we need. We are just lacking a diaper genie and some extra stuff for the bottles (I am planning on pumping into bottles so my husband can feed the baby and it will make going back to work easier). I was advised to get a SnuggleMe to go over the carrier … you can get the lite one or the regular one depending on your climate. I got the lite because it will act as a rain jacket and keep the baby rather warm when it gets cold outside.

just some advice on breastfeeding…don’t skip feedings the first 4 weeks, you will be miserable when your breasts get full!
at first all you will need is diapers, clothes, a safe place for him to sleep, maybe a few swaddler blankets, a few hats (the thin ones) and baby wash cloths. and, you ofcourse! :)
