    @brianaott Why don’t you take care of your child, and let these people take care of their’s? They don’t need you telling them how to raise their child. They obviously went to professionals who have advised them. Why are you people so cultish?

    @brianaott Then why are you against CI’s? If the child is still deaf, then why are so many deaf people so anti CI’s? Leave these parents alone, let them give their child any medical treatment they deem necessary. No sane parent would choose deafness for their child, if the technology is available to allow the child to hear and speak well. No one has ever died from wearing CI’s and it is absolutely false that most CI patients chose to remove them later…The “deaf community” is truly desperate!

The deaf community cannot and will not scare parents into keeping their children from hearing…You have already lost the war, more and more parents are opting to give their children the gift of hearing with CI’s…The numbers are increasing, not decreasing. Why would any parent want their child to be part of some “deaf community”, when they could be part of their own community? Leave these people alone!

    Sorry, that baby’s face says it all, so bollocks to you negative prats this is wonderful. Not being able to hear does not give you special status, it doesn’t make you ‘a people apart’ it does NOT give you the right to tell other people, deaf or not, how they should live, or what they should be. Stop clinging on to some vague idea of being special and looking down from some hallowed mountain on people who can hear to get you through life. You’re not, you are just people same as the rest.

    I don’t know why ANYONE would bad mouth this. This is a miracle of modern science, and you argue that he wasn’t given the CHOICE to hear? That’s like saying I wasn’t given a choice to buy a car without seats! Yes, the car would still work, but why not get the whole kit and caboodle as opposed to leaving something else. you know what, ask the kid when he grows up and see what he thinks. Don’t fear the technology!!
