I know you’re thinking, “NOT AGAIN!!!” Lol. “Yes, again, except this time it was flour and not baby powder. Smh! Then with that same breath, you’re like, “Uh uhn, couldn’t be me… I woulda….!” And you’re right! I’m not you! Haha! We’re all different and instead of beating them for something I knew they’d prob do, we talked and hopefully everyone learned something…
And there was love, correction, discipline, and forgiveness in our discussion!
It’s kinda like our relationship with God… we choose to disobey Him and suffer the consequences because of it. In this case, I chose to continue my convo w/ Austin (because God told me to share some things with him) while cleaning Caelyn’s blowout, but clearly I judged the timing all wrong lol.
We were actually in the process of making banana bread and I left them with a SMALL amt of flour on the counter smh. When I came back, I found the ENTIRE kitchen covered in flour!
So what kind of parent are you?
A) You’re quick to save your child(ren) before they even have a chance to mess up or learn from it.
B) You allow your child(ren) to make reasonable mistakes with the understanding that they’ll eventually need your help and forgiveness.
C) You’re easily frustrated, quick to scold & use the common phrase, “Because I said so!” Lol
Quite frankly, I teeter totter with each of these options daily and I’m sure we all have similar experiences. After all parenting is a journey, not a destination and hopefully we’re all striving for progress and not perfection because only He is perfect!
Regarding our kids, let’s remember that God has entrusted us with raising them to ultimately seek, follow, & listen to Him. So it’s wise to mirror His love/correction when parenting.
