UNICEF: Food crisis ravages India’s poorest children

June 10, 2011 By Pilar Estefana

GURAVAL VILLAGE, Madhya Pradesh, India, 9 June 2008 — Despite a robust economy with 9 per cent annual growth in recent years, inflation and the food crisis in India now threaten to erode many of the gains made here. In order to address both the complex situation causing high rates of child malnutrition in India, the retail giant IKEA is supporting UNICEF India with an million package of health, nutrition, and water and sanitation programmes over the next five years. In the state of Madhya Pradesh, which has the highest child mortality and child malnutrition rates in the country, government supplementary programmes are under threat. Community workers have complained that they can no longer give severely malnourished children a healthy, balanced diet out of the 2 Rupees per day that they receive from government for each child. www.unicef.org

Saving for a year to feed the gods while the children are malnourished.
      Religion is a crime.

It’s sad when the population increases faster than the economy, and the government does little or nothing to help the people.

@waters2100, Shame on the rich educated Indians in Melbourne, Australia. They could at least give something back to the poor community.

@SaviourSole, this is nothing more than ethnic cleansing a form of GENOCIDE. I don’t know which country is worse Rwanda, Congo or India? The CIA or Freemason government did the same thing to the African’s in Rwanda. They killed many dark skin Africans. Ethnic cleansing is a common practice today. In North Africa White women from Europe and the U.S. are used for breeding purposes. Notice the Indians in this picture are dark skin like the ones in Sri Lanka, Asia.

I’m Indian and i have done several studies on related issue and i found that shortage of food is not the only problem, education is also a big problems, people need to educated on various subjects.
In this video she was saying that she have 7 babies. Feeding that big family is not an easy task. I think it will be harder to feed that big family for a person who is making six figure income.

I’m not sure why everyone blaming government all the time because we can’t just stop everything and wait for poor people to catch-up. We will have to solve these issues as we go and it takes time. Nothing can be fixed overnight.
I think we need educate people how to reduce the production of babies
