Car seats and strollers-Do you regularly wash the covers?

November 10, 2010 By Pilar Estefana

How often do you wash them? I will admit, I have never washed my stroller seat adn I have only washed my car seat cover when my daughter threw up all over it.
wow. my daughter is 12 mo! maybe i should be washing her stroller LOL. Her car seat was wiped down a few times since she has spit up and pooped (none actaully got on the fabric but the smell did so i wiped it anyway).
thats it. i’m wiping it all down with lysol wipes when I get home.
and yeah her stroller cover cant be removed either but i notice that the saet is getting dirty since she’s walking now and she wears shoes

The seat in his stroller is canvas and can’t be removed from the frame, so obviously it’s never been washed. I’ve washed the car seat cover 2 times in a year. (When something gets spilled on it.)

At least I’m not the only one. LOL

Well we don’t use the stroller much so I have never washed it, but we use the car seat everyday! I actually just washed it for the first time about a week ago and she is now 9 months! :( Sad I know!

I haven’t used my daughters stroller yet.(She’s 7 weeks, and its freezing outside) But I have a "Bundle Me Bunting"cover in my daughters carseat/carrier and I wash it once a week.

yes, the cleaner things are for your baby the healthier he/she will be. i recommend to use clorox wipes or even the lysol wipes. and wash the toys often too. i keep washing my baby’s rattles time after time. if you go to clorox.com it will tell you how to wash them and how much water and clorox you need. just maaaaaaaaake sure you dont put too much clorox or else it stinks extremely gross and imagine putting that in your mouth? ew

I usually wait until something awful happens to the covers of things before I wash them…it happens enough frequently enough, lol.

We never use the stroller without the car seat so I have never washed that. The car seat cover I’ve only washed one and that’s because it smelled like spoiled milk after my baby spill milk on the straps. In 8 months I’ve washed it once, I never realized I could remove the cover to wash hehe im a first time mother and hardly have time to discover those sorts of things.

i had to wash my sons car seat cover 2-3 times when he was younger than 6 months but that was from milk and spit up or whatever but now that he is older (10 months) i haven’t really needed to wash it in a while. and we dont really use the stroller that much either so i just barely washed that cover for the first time last week.

Well Ive only actually washed the car seat cover 1 time. Bc my son vomited it in. Our stroller cover cant come off, but when it was summer I used to use clorox wipes and wipe it down every so often after an outing. His car seat I wipe off quite(with clorox wipes) often especially after like shopping and visiting with relatives. The car seat cover on most days or every 2 to 4 days I just use hot soap/ water and a washcloth to wipe it out.
