i’m due any day now and today i had my baby shower since this weekend im going to finish up the nursery.anyways one of my friends bought a chanelle baby blanket from hermes that costed over 0. i appreciate the gift but why spend so much on a baby blanket i can buy at walmart or target?dont you agree?i didnt wanna upset her but i think its alot of money to spend on a blanket

I heard the receiving/swaddling blanket used in the hospitals when a baby is born is softer than the ones we buy outside since it’s cotton, soft etc. One of my friend said you can actually take back the blankets given in the hospital. Is that true, has anyone done that, can I solely depend on that and not bring my own swaddling blankets? Anyone done this before? By the way are we allowed to take them back? Are they brand new or used ones? Will the hospital charge us?

I’ve only been married for a couple of months and we’re only young and I’m still completing my studies so we’ve decided to wait 2 years before having a baby… but something inside of me is burning with disire to make our little baby and bring it into the world… the way I deal with this is preperation. So much prep.
We already have a cot and a stroller, new born dummies, sleepers, a bath, bathing supplies, booties, muslin wraps, cuddle blankets, teethers AND soooo many clothes. I’ve read the entire ‘what to expect when you’re expecting’ and countless other baby articles. I have lists upon lists of things we need to do and buy. I’ve researched local obg’s and prenatal classes and I’m on pre natal vitamens .. just in case… but I just don’t know if it’s normal.
I don’t feel like it’s a waist or anything, even if for some crazy reason we cant get pregnant we’re defiently adopting or forstering or kidnapping (not really) so that’s not my concern.. I just feel like it’s not a normal thing to do. Did anyone else do it or know of anyone who did it. I don’t understand my cluckiness but I just cant do anything about it.

i am 22 weeks and i really want to start buying things for my baby! the thing is i don’t know what it is yet! i wanted to keep it a surprise but my husband does not! soo what are things i can start buying that are not clothes or blankets!

Ok, I hope this doesn’t come out sounding TOO selfish, but I am going to be a single mother with my first in June and am stressed about my lack of money…sooo I was sorta hoping to get quite a bit of help via the baby shower.
I’m wondering…what kind of things did you get? Should I start saving expecting to buy the large items (i.e. crib, car seat, rocking chair, swing) or are these items often fulfilled in a shower? Or should I just expect smaller things…like clothes, blankets, bibs, toys??
I’m very lost and I’m really hoping to not have to deplete my entire savings (so far only 00) before my little girl is born…that makes me nervous. Any help is appreciated.

Ok i feel really dumb asking this since i already have one child but she was a winter baby. My son is due in 5 weeks(whoohooo 37 days to go) Do summer babies need blankets like winter babies do? Ive bought a few receiveing blankets and ive made one for him. Are there any special things that summer babies need? I would ask my mom or MIL but they both had all winter babies! your input would be appreciated!
