I really hope to adopt a baby when i’m in my 20’s. I’m 15 right now. I’ve been buying little things, like pacifiers, blankets, and bottles. Am i crazy for wanting to be prepared when I won’t be able to adopt for at least 10 more years? thank you

Hey there,
That’s great you have wonderful intentions. I must say, it is a bit early, and I only say this because your tastes as a 15 year old will change greatly by the time you are 20. You’re not crazy…you’re just excited…
Have a beautiful day.

yeah it is way too soon. even if you were at that ideal stage. adoption is a long process. i would wait until i was old enough, and once the baby was living with me.

It’s going to get dusty, and they’re going to invent new things by the time you’re ready. Spend that stuff on teen stuff, like magazines ad jewelry, or whatever you’re into!
I mean it’s great that you’re so into adopting, but you’re still a kid yourself!

wayyy to early
there a safety standards on baby items that get review all the time , so some thing that you brought today could be deemed to be unsafe next year …
why not use that money ur spending on baby items to save up for a deposit on a house , or even go out with friends

Are you still going to want to adopt in 10 years?
Is there going to be new inventions and gadgets for babies that you will absolutely want if you do adopt?
Do you even know if you will get a baby boy or girl, or if you will even get a baby at all?
You are still a teenager, a while to wait..
Even us who are 20 weeks pregnant are only just buying things, as you never know of the future.

WAY to soon! First of all the things you are buying (bottles and pacifiers) may have an expiration date. They may be recalled in the next 10 years or a better product may come out and all the stuff you are buying now will end up being trashed.
Adoption is a long process. Alot of people think they are coming home with a baby just to have the paretns back out at the last minute and then they have to start the whole process over again. And there is a long waiting list, years long even.
Live your teenage years and prepare when you are married, have a house and all the paperwork for an adoption is signed.

Yes that stuff will be dry rotted by then. Be patient. Patience is the first thing you want to learn before you start preparing for a baby.
