For generations, kids of all ages have enjoyed using their imaginations to bring their LEGO creations to life. LEGO has allowed children to adventure into the worlds of astronauts and aliens in outer-space, or do battle amongst knights and dragons in medieval castles.

In one of the latest LEGO installments, LEGO City, children can build their own modern metropolis, complete with police stations, schools, trains, and our feature today, the LEGO City Mine.
With the LEGO City Mine play set, children can build their very own gold mine, where miners can work using the big drill to break up rocks, the crane to transport gold, and even a safe to lock up the treasures.
The Specifications
This LEGO set is great for kids ages 6 to 12, and includes 748 LEGO pieces. The set comes with 4 LEGO figurines to work in the mine, including the crew chief, the crane operator, drill operator, and truck driver. There are also includes an array of accessories, such as the dynamite packs, detonators, gold nuggets, gold bars, various colored rocks, signs and mining tools.
The mine also comes with a drill for digging, as well as a crane and truck for transportation, and a conveyor belt.
The mine is 9 inches wide and 22 inches long, as well as 9 inches high.
The Price
When it comes to LEGO, you get what you pay for. They often charge a high price for their construction sets, but the quality is exceptional and the hours of play and imagination that children get out of each set are priceless.
The LEGO City Mine set costs a steep $118.00, but compared to other LEGO sets and the amount of features that this one has, it is actually very reasonably priced. For what you are paying you will receive an entire play set, 3 vehicles, 4 play figures, and various accessories.
The Verdict
It is very rare that I will not recommend a purchase of a LEGO set as a great gift for a child, and this is no exception. This is one of the best values for LEGO sets that I have seen lately, and it is a great addition to the LEGO City collection. This product is definitely a buy.
