Hi! My name is Erika and welcome to my YouTube channel. I’ve had this channel since 2009 but only started uploading regularly last year. I am a born and raised New Yorker. I’ve been a performer my whole life and in 2009 was offered the job of a lifetime – performing for Disney Cruise Line. Over three years with the company, I portrayed some of Disney’s most beloved characters, danced my heart out, and met my husband! In 2013, I moved up to Toronto, Canada and studied for my full STOTT Pilates certification. Then, that summer, my husband and I got our first apartment on the Upper East Side in Manhattan, NY! In December 2013, my husband (then boyfriend) came home from his last ship contract and proposed! We got married at The Russian Tea Room in New York City on January 24th, 2015. We love adventure, and after 3 years living in Manhattan, in May 2016, we moved down to Celebration, Florida! In December 2016, I danced in the Macy’s Holiday Parade at Universal Studios and had the time of my life! Although we’ve loved Florida, in May 2017, we moved back to New York to be closer to family and friends. In June 2017, we got the best news in the world – that we were expecting our first baby due March 2018. on February 28th, 2018 our little Hugo William was born. He is the light of our lives. PHEW.. So that’s my story! I don’t know what adventures lie ahead but I am SO excited to share them with all of you!

Natural Baby Clothes and Tips

Searching for natural baby clothes is easy as long as you know exactly what to look for. Your baby’s skin is very soft but also very prone to irritation and infection. When shopping for natural baby clothes, look for 100% organic or natural cotton.

TIP! Think about what you’re teaching your child. Children respect honesty and will be more apt to trust you.

Cotton is a fabric that can be very easily cleaned, making it great for newborns that spit up a lot. Cotton is also great for toddlers who are very messy – in other words, all toddlers!

There are many online boutiques now that sell specific organic baby clothing from hats right down to socks and shoes. Whether you’re in the sunny south or the frigid north, cotton clothing for the baby can be both breathable and cozy. There’s also organic Egyptian cotton, which is like a cloud to touch and won’t irritate the skin.

TIP! Clear off a space on the kitchen counter, lay your child back on a rolled towel, and run water from the faucet over the hair and scalp. This can make hair washing fun and reduce the fear of getting water in his eyes or poured over him.

Other natural baby clothing fabrics include wool or fiber from any animal coat – including sheep or llama. This type of fabric ensures warmth in the winter or early spring for your baby.

Wool clothing may be infamously itchy, but in today’s day and age, many clothing manufacturers have perfected the feeling of wool to be soft and cozy rather than itchy to the baby.

TIP! Stick with your child’s established eating and sleeping schedule as best you can when you are traveling with him or her. Traveling with young kids can be stressful for them, particularly when they are infants.

Wool also makes a great fabric for a baby blanket. Wool can be a little costly but is necessary if you live in a chilly area of the world. Most wool clothes range from $13-30 per item, depending on the brand.

Silk is a great natural fabric that comes from the cocoon of the silkworm. Silk baby clothes are much more affordable than wool but will cost you a bit more than just cotton. Natural silk baby clothes range in price from $10-20 for a sweater and $7-13 for a shirt. Silk is mostly found in baby blankets, but if you go to online boutiques that offer organic baby clothing, silk will be a hot-ticket item.

TIP! Even though it is important to spend plenty of time with your kids, take time to relax alone. Spending time on your own doing the things that you enjoy allows you to maintain your own sense of individuality.

Baby clothes made from linen are almost always 100% natural because the fabric itself is from a fiber called flax. Linen generally comes in neutral color tones like brown, beige, and white.

Linen is very inexpensive but very comfortable and for those of you who live in the sunny regions, linen is mostly light and airy. Linen dresses range from $15-20 in most online organic stores. When using linen (as a dress) in a cooler part of the world, pair it up with a wool sweater and some tights to make it more comfy and cozy.

Other super-organic baby clothes include those that are made with Hemp, Ramie, or Jute. The composition of hemp is very similar to that of linen, except for the fact that it’s a little warmer. Hemp fabric has been known to withstand water (or juice for that matter) better than any other textile product, but it wrinkles easily.

what is the best gift you recieved for your baby?

I am about to become a Gran for the first time and I really want to buy them something special for the baby.

I have made a basket filled with baby essentials like napppies, blankets and creams etc and have knitted a couple of cardigans and bought a few baby books.
They already have the major equipment like cots and also have lots of baby clothes already, so I would love to know what gift you received that were the most useful.
