Me and my fiance Dan are expecting, but we can’t think of any names.I want original names with good meaning

Great names for baby girls or boys original names welcome?
—- I like Jack and William for a boy and Elide (pronounced Ella-day), Leah and Emma for a girl. I know, not too original. These have been my favourites long before they were popular. One fun website is nymbler.com you can type in your favourites and it comes up with more names that it thinks you will like, it gives you names that it thinks will compliment other children’s names…. etc.
My daughter is called Megan, and would have been Toby if she’d been a boy.
Other lovely girls’ names: Isla, Bethan, Freya, Bella
I’m not so good on boys’ names – lots of nice biblical ‘classic’ ones if you like them – Matthew, Mark, Luke, Samuel…

Original Baby names…Boys and Girls?
For a girl i have Torrid (means passionate) and for a boy i have Ransom and Rip (family name) But I want more options….especially since my husband doesn’t like either boy name….PLEASE comment on those names as well as give me some more….I REALLY LIKE UNCOMMON NAMES….
- Try to use real names that aren’t used a lot. because then people will still take them seriously and people will still be able to pronounce and spell their name I’d advise against ransom and torrid, Since its kinda wierd, because ransom is something kidnappers want in exchange for the people, and Torrid doesn’t sound like a name and it sounds too close to horrid
I’d suggest
Brayden, Louis, Marius, Quinn, Cieran (said the same as Kieran, but is the Gaelic spelling) William, Beau, Malachy Lauchuan, Liam
For a girl
Eloise Ciara (female form of Cieran) Claudia, Lily, Emmy, lillybeth, bethany Alice, jane, Poppy, Eleanor, Wenesday
- sorry but i dont really like torrid at all, to me it sounds to similar to horrid and i could imagine the poor child being teased, rip and ransom are ok names
valentine-strong and healthy
venetia-goddess of love
tamsin-twin
talitha-pretty girl
sonika-golden girl
philomena-beloved
penelope-faithful and astute
morwenna-fair maiden
magnus-magnificent and great
fergus-man of strength
florence-blooming
farah-joy and cheerfulness

baby names and their meanings
- I know right now those names sound lovely to you, but think ahead to the future. In school the children will tease your child and your child will come home from school sad, do you want that? What about wedding day? I often try to remind parents that the name that they choose for their child has to work for all situations through their life not only while they are a tiny sweet-smelling bundle in your arms.
Here are some suggestions that might work better:
Toriana (also spelled Torianna, Torriana, and Torrianna) it means great worth
If you really want to use Randsom, please include the ‘d’, but personally I don’t think that one is a good one for our modern days due all the kidnappings. Perhaps it could be used as a middle name.
Rip is actually short for Ripley which tends to bring Ripley’s Believe or Not to mind. Rip also stands for Rest in Peace, which is on many gravestones throughout the USA. You may want to scrap that one altogether.
A few possible boy names:
Ramsey
Reuben
Roman
Royce
Rezon
Any ideas for unusual baby names, boys & girls? Not too wierd though, just original ones please.
- PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE…. what ever name you name your child do not name him/her a popular name just spelled different!!!! It makes the name confusing and really it is just the same name everyone else has… except theirs wont ever be pronounced correctly.
examples-
Jason- Jacen
Kristin- Krystyn
Jayden- Jaedon
- i named my son Ki’an Jovon (pronounced (key-in) (joe-vaughn)i chose jovon because my fathers name was joe and i wanted to carry on part of his name while still making it his own) i have never heard of that name before. i am alway getting complemets on his name because its so unique and sounds good together.
- I found the name Kaydence the other day and I completely fell in love with it. I believe the name can be uni-sex if you play with the spelling of it. I’m 5 weeks pregnant and if my little one is a girl I will probably name her Kaydence Alivia. Good luck with the name game and congratulations on your pregnancy!
