What Cramping During Pregnancy May Mean and High Risk Pregnancy

What Cramping During Pregnancy May Mean

For some women, every ache, pain, or discomfort is a cause for worry while they are pregnant. Some don’t worry much, but first time moms almost always think something is going wrong. This could happen for a few different reasons. The biggest or most common reason is because they have never gone through pregnancy before so they don’t know what everything means. Some things can be normal and they can also mean something is wrong. That makes it hard to know what to do. Cramping during pregnancy can go either way, so it is no wonder it makes women nervous.

Cramping during pregnancy almost always warrants a call to the doctor to make sure that nothing is wrong. It often depends on the time of the pregnancy in which the cramping occurs. At times, the doctor will explain why you are having cramps and everything will be fine. Other times they may tell you to lie down and call back in a few hours, and still other times you may be instructed to come into the office or go into the ER to make sure that nothing is going on that needs immediate attention.

There are common types of cramping during pregnancy that won’t mean anything is wrong. This is usually very early on. This cramping may even feel like what you would have if your period were coming. These cramps early in the pregnancy are things moving and stretching. Don’t worry about them too much unless they are accompanied by bleeding. If so, call your doctor as soon as you can. Early on, however, if something is wrong there is not much that you can do about it. It’s unfortunate, but that is the way that it is.

Sometimes you are going to have cramping during pregnancy as the baby grows. The growing of the uterus to house the baby and all that goes with it happens all the time, not just early on. You could get cramps for this reason at any time. Some of them are going to be light, and some may come with a pulling or aching sensation. You may get use to how they feel, and if they get substantially worse, you will know it is time to call the doctor because something else may be wrong.

Cramping during pregnancy that comes later on, but is not like anything you have ever felt, may be cause for concern. If these are strong enough to make you stop what you are doing, and come closer and closer together, you may be in labor (or preterm labor if you are not yet due). Some of these are Braxton Hicks, which are not dangerous. Lie down for a while and see if they go away. If not, call your doctor. If you find any type of discharge along with these cramps during pregnancy, go to the closest hospital as soon as you can. There may be nothing wrong, but this is not the time to guess. Allow someone to check things out.

Taking Care During a High Risk Pregnancy

The miracle of birth does not always come without complications. There are many things that can happen that would classify your condition as a high risk pregnancy. If this happens to you, don’t panic too much. Your doctor or doctors know what to do and how to help you have a happy and healthy pregnancy, even when you have to do special things or avoid more activities than other pregnant women. A pregnancy labeled as high risk can be problematic, but it does not mean that you won’t have your happy ending.

Anyone over the age of 35 is considered to have a high risk pregnancy. This does not mean that you are going to have any problems if you are over this age, but it does mean the doctor may pay a bit more attention to what is going on in your pregnancy than usual. It could also mean that you get more diagnostic tests covered by your insurance than you would if you were under 35. A high risk pregnancy that is such just because of age is usually non eventful and everything turns out okay. If you fall into this category, take advantage of the extras if you feel they will allow you to relax about your pregnancy.

Someone who has given birth prematurely before will be considered a high risk pregnancy. This is because those that give birth early once have a higher chance of doing so again. If you have one preemie, and no real reason for that happening was found, you may get more specialize care to try to get you to carry full term the second or third time around. If there was a reason you gave birth early, like infection, your chances of the same thing happening again are low, but you may still get the high risk label while pregnant.

Some women can develop gestational diabetes while they are pregnant. This can happen if you are overweight or obese, or if you have insulin resistance. Sometimes, there is no reason. When you get this, your baby could have some complications and will probably be a large baby. You are going to have a special diet and may need insulin while pregnant. You will be considered a high risk pregnancy in this case as well. Make sure you take care of yourself and your baby and you should be just fine. Remember that if your baby grows too large you may have to have a Cesarean section instead of having a vaginal birth.

There are various other conditions that can contribute to you having a high risk pregnancy. When this happens the important thing to do is to not panic. If you like and trust your doctor, you can try to relax and be assured that he or she is going to do all they can to help you have a safe delivery at full term? There are always times when this is not possible, but babies are safer than ever, even when born early. Follow your doctor’s instructions whether it is about diet or bed rest, take care of yourself, and think positive thoughts for your baby.

Clutches are also called envelop bag. They made a big wave in the past and have made frequent comebacks in the few past seasons. They usually come with no strap and have to be held in the hand all through.
