I’m shopping for receiving blankets, and there is a variety of fleece and flannel. However, the fleece generally only comes with one. I need an opinion, do you think I should buy one fleece receiving blanket or the set of flannel blankets? Keep in mind the comfort of the baby, of course! :)
I live in West Virginia and am due in mid-July. It’ll be fairly hot.

I loved flannel blankets for swaddling, because they let you swaddle nice and tight which was key for getting my newborn to sleep. But I also loved the fleece blankets for keeping him warm while he was sitting in his seat, playing on the floor or when we travelled outside in the cold. The fleece blankets also got lots of use during tummy time…they were soft on his face. I would suggest a few of both.

Is it warm or cold where you live? I prefer fleece since the flannel ones aren’t very warm or very big for swaddling. The best ones for swaddling are the waffle texture blankets. I prefer those to fleece or flannel. The flannel blankets are tiny. My cousin’s babies preferred those as a baby blanket. They slept with it until they were preschoolers. For all I know, they might still sleep with them. But, I didn’t find them very useful for wrapping up my babies.

my son loves the flannel ones, when we would use the fleece ones he seemed uncomfortable.

i love the fleece ones they sell at Target from their Circo brand. Carters also has a lot of super soft ones that i love. i use the flannel ones as burp cloths to be honest. if you live in a warmer climate i’d go with flannel, but also think about what you would want to be wrapped in…fleece or flannel? FLEECE for me!! :)

Fleece is nice in colder temperatures, but I like the flannel. Especially due to the fact that they stay wrapped better than fleece.

Definitly the flannel. Especially if it is going to be hot outside. You could get flannel just to try out for when its colder.

i think you should buy both if you can afford it! you will use the flannel more often but i think you will need the fleece at times too!
