I am 30 weeks pregnant with a girl (I have 3 boys already). My youngest is 6 yrs old and I have gotten rid of all of my baby things. I will not be having a baby shower, but there are two grandmas who are ready and willing to help purchase things. I just need to give them a list of things I would like. I do not want a bunch of unnecessary things (I homeschool my three boys and there’s plenty of other "stuff" around my house!) I just want a list of "barebones" baby items for the first 3 months. How many onesies? socks? etc. I do a load of laundry every day so this will help. Can someone who has had a baby more recently than me help me with a list to give the grandmas? I just don’t remember how many clothes, blankets, etc. I had with the others.

Hi! I am a homeschool parent, as well.
Your baby will only need several outfits for wearing out. She will outgrow them so fast, it is a waste to have more than a few and around the house she will probably wear onesies and/or sleepers most of the time. I would have atleast a half dozen of each of those, just in case of accidents or what not. In fact, I think that a half dozen is a good number for just about everything-receiving blankets, bibs, burp cloths, socks.
I HIGHLY recommend the Bumbo seat. It even has a tray you can attach to use like a highchair or for a play tray. My daughter would sit in it and watch us.
Also, you can get a small travel swing frame that uses an infant car seat as the swing, so you do not have to have a full size swing.
Congratulations!

The one thing I would not worry about is clothes. My baby is 7 months old and we still do not have to buy clothes. People love buying baby clothes, especially for girls! Even if you’re not super close. Most likely the Grandmas will buy lots of cute outfits anyway. I would focus on big things.
My fave is a pack of receiving blankets for swaddling and a swing or bouncer for sleeping! Those are necessities for me.

You can never have to many onesies or blankets.
Clothes are goingto be given to you.
My best friend after the birth of both my girls was my boppy, I recommend getting one.
Email me if you want to

I bought about 7-10 of each myself. But like the other girl said, everyone loves buying baby clothes. More so for girls. So I ended up with about 20 of everything. And my daughter still has too many clothes. There are some outfits she only wore once or twice. Walmart or Carter’s outlet stores are usually the best to buy those things at because they dont cost too much and they are still adorable.

Honestly, I think about 5 to 7 onesies and pairs of socks would suffice. And several burp rags (3-5). And receiving blankets-you can’t have too many of those! I got several packages of blankets and have used all of them. That is the bare minimum I think. Oh yeah, a couple pacifiers, if you like them. My daughter had much more, but barely used the extras, so there’s really no point. Congrats and good luck!

I have an 8 week old child and here are some things my fiance and I use on a daily basis:
swaddling blankets (about 10 – we lose them in a big house, they get dirty easily, and you can never go wrong with them)
t-shirts (about 5 – i love putting them on with just a diaper while i play with the baby, and at night if it is chili in the house they are easy to put on under a nightgown)
nightgowns (the ones that stretch at the bottom – about 10 to 20…they fit for so long, and in the middle of the night when the baby wakes up all i have to do is lift up the gown to change a diaper it is so much easier than the snaps)
a bouncer (my baby could not go to sleep without the vibrations for the first couple of weeks but now the bouncer is just a life saver when my fiance and i are ready to eat we strap the baby in the bouncer)
and last a boppy (it is a U shaped pillow, i put the baby on their for tummy time to learn neck movements and things. it is also good if you want to go outside and just sit around the baby can lay cuddled up in the pillow)
that is all i really have been using i have a swing but babies cannot hold their heads up right away it takes a little time
hope that helps good luck and congratulations

Definetly get a baby carrier or sling. It makes getting things done so much easier and you’re bonding at the same time!
